Joe Gordon I Chair
Joe Gordon is a lifelong resident of St.Thomas - Elgin County and has worked in local government for over 20 years. Currently employed with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) as the Regulations Coordinator, Joe is responsible for overseeing and guiding UTRCA’s natural hazard development regulations. Joe is a graduate of the Urban Design planning program from Fanshawe College where he also previously taught GIS related courses within its Integrated Land Use Planning program. Joe has gained valuable experience in leadership, risk management, conflict resolution and policy development which he hopes can contribute to the long standing success of Yarmouth Mutual Insurance Company.
Jillian Ferguson I Vice-Chair
Jillian Ferguson is a proud Elgin County native, with multiple generations of her family rooted in the community and its agricultural sector. She is a graduate of Brock University, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies. Following her undergraduate studies—and after working in France for the international vegetable processing company Bonduelle—she completed French Studies at Western University. Jillian currently serves as Chief of Staff to Peter Fragiskatos, Member of Parliament for London Centre. She previously worked as a Member’s Assistant to Karen Vecchio, Member of Parliament for Elgin–Middlesex–London. Elected in March 2018, Jillian is the first woman to serve on the Yarmouth Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors. She remains committed to contributing to the continued success of Yarmouth Mutual, offering a progressive and forward-looking perspective.
Grant McDonald I Past-Chair
Grant McDonald is a 7th generation resident of Elgin County, and 4th generation policyholder with Yarmouth Mutual. As a graduate with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, he obtained a concrete knowledge of business, finance, -marketing, and operations. Upon graduation he gained experience working within both 'Fortune 500' and 'Profit 500' companies, later branching off to form his own business in 2016 focused on acquiring, renovating, building, and managing multi-family properties throughout Southwestern Ontario. Grant's qualifications, passion, and expertise in the construction and building sector will provide a fresh new perspective to Yarmouth Mutual and its policyholders.
Lloyd Perrin I Director
Lloyd Perrin is a lifelong resident of Elgin County. He is a graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program of Fanshawe College and has been employed in the role of Director of Physical Services for the Municipality of Central Elgin for the past 17 years. Lloyd has sat on a number of advisory committees and boards including the Lake Erie Source Water Protection committee representing municipalities across Elgin and Middlesex Counties. Lloyd looks forward to contributing to the success of Yarmouth Mutual with his progressive thinking and business minded approach.
Robert Foster I Director
Robert Foster has been a Yarmouth Mutual Director since 2006. Rob resides on, and continues to cash crop farm his grandfather's farm in Mapleton (south of Belmont) with his wife Michele and their 2 children. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from WLU, is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and is a partner at the Accounting Firm of Graham Scott Enns LLP. Rob is the treasurer of the Elgin Norfolk Grain Farmers of Ontario and committee member of the Grain Financial Responsibility Review Committee.
Patrick Butters I Director
Patrick Butters is a lifelong resident of Elgin County and as a second-generation farmer has inherited a passion for Agriculture and the Environment. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce in Agricultural Business. Patrick operates a diversified farm, specializing in Ornamental Corn, pumpkins and gourds marketed to major grocery store chains across North America, alongside corn, soybean and wheat production. Patrick’s family farm has been a long-time policyholder with Yarmouth Mutual Insurance Company. He looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and future success of the organization.
